Project Brief
These environments have been developed for a work-in-progress project, Human Parts, by the Resilient Visions Collaboratory Lab at ASU, which aims to help reduce stress and anxiety in women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.

Chemotherapy is a very painful and physically and mentally taxing treatment. The goal of this project is to help provide a level of relief during the process. Research has found that practicing breathing techniques in natural environments helps relieve stress.

Women would wear a VR headset before they go in for chemotherapy. During the treatment, they would practice breathing exercises in virtual natural environments modeled after real United States National Parks. This would help reduce the mental and physical strain they would otherwise have to endure while undergoing chemotherapy.
